"How can you tell by looking a

"How can you tell by looking at a 454 block if it is counter -rotating? Starters, pumps, etc may or may not have been re-installed correctly so they are of no help. Any ideas?"

A Counter-rot

"Ayuh,.......

A Counter-rotating motor will have Timing Gears,....
This is so the Crankshaft turns righthanded, while the Cam,+ distributer will still turn the Same Way as they do otherwise.....

Also,.....
The Starter is Different,.... Usually mounted to the motor from Behind,+ above, rather than from Ahead,+ below....."
