" First: Anyone know for sure the oil/gas ratio for a 57 10hp Seahorse, is it 24:1 or 50:1???

Second: The motor has been sitting for about 1.5 years and was running perfect. Any certain pre-cautions that I should take before attempting to start the motor?

Johnny.... I have no knowledge of the value of the 70hp.

The 1957 10hp Johnson uses a 24/1 mixture. Sitting that long..... clean and rebuild the carburetor as it is sure to be gummed up.

Thanks for the info guys. I will try to fire up the Johnson this week and I will clean it up first. Anyone know if there are still kits for tune-ups on old motors like mine? Is there any links or sites that have detailed info on repairs also? Thanks.
