Motors run fine...untill I put the port motor in gear, it just dies. Is there a way to bypass the NSSwitch to see if that "is" the problem?
Where is the NSSwitch located?

Thanks

YOU DID NOT SPECIFY THE DRIVE TYPE.
IT SOUNDS LIKE YOUR PROBLEM IS THE SHIFT INTERUPT SWITCH INSTEAD.

The 5.7 is attached to an Alp

The 5.7 is attached to an Alpha drive.
Where is the Shift Interupt Switch located?

SHIFT INTERUPT SWITCH

KEVIN
SHIFT INTERUPT SWITCH ASSEMBLY IS ON THE LEFT EXHAUST RISER AS YOU'RE LOOKING AT THE FRONT OF THE MOTOR. IT IS ON THE SHIFT PLATE.

MORE THAN LIKELY THE SHIFT CABLE TO THE OUTDRIVE IS BINDING DUE TO CORROSION AND TRIPPING THE INTERUPT SWITCH. TO REPAIR THE OUTDRIVE MUST BE REMOVED AND CABLE REPLACED.

Found it....bypassed it by disconnecting the ground screw and BAM...all is good. I am going to replace it. The cable isn't hard to shift or anything. Do these switches just "go bad?"

thanks again!

" Kevin,
Could be a bad switch or you may need to re-adjust your shift and remote control cables. If they are not set properly the kill switch will trigger when shifting gears. "
