    Honda 225 trim/tilt

    So the trim switch on the motor works fine. No issue there. The switch in the cabin isn't working. For a while down worked fine but up didn't. Now neither work from inside. What should I look for? How should I troubleshoot without a meter. Thanks

    Honda 225 Ball Collapsing

    2003 Honda 225. At high RPM i lose power . Feels like its starving for fuel. At this time the ball goes flat (vacuum). Vent is clear...all lines and filters from the motor to the tank have been replaced...pick up is clean.. Next step?

    High oil pressure

    2003 Honda bf225. Changed all the fluids. Took the boat out today and it ran great but I noticed my oil pressure Guage pins (30 psi)at 3000 rpms. I don't think it ever did that. What should the pressure be? Probably has nothing to do with it but my voltage gauge is low also...about 12...

    Help with plug removal

    Just bought this boat in August. Motor is 2003 Honda 225 4 stroke. Today I winterized the motor but ran into a problem. 5 of the 6 plugs and coils came out fine. I couldn't remove The port side lower plug or coil because the lower cowling is about 1/2 inch higher then the starboard side...

    fuel system flush?

    I have 1998 johnson 130. I may have some buildup behind my carbs in ports I cannot get to without a major disassemble job. Is there a fuel additive that may clean it up a little?

    rough idle...faulty bulb?

    wet motor?

    After a day out I lift my cover and my motor is wet. Water never came over the motor. I'm in nj and its 98 degrees with HIGH humidity. Is the weather the cause? Anything to worry about?

    Thermo cover bolts torque?

    1998 johnson 130 ......How tight do I make the thermo cover bolts? I thought I had the correct value but i did it and the gaskets crushed and I broke a bolt. (Luckily I got it out)

    Do they need washers? I have drained a few units....some have washers some don't.

    O-ring on driveshaft?

    1998 Johnson 130 ... I dropped the LU to change the water pump. I noticed no o-ring on the driveshaft just below the splines. My other motors had one. The schematics don't show one. Should I put one on?

    Hole ID on lower unit?

    1998 Johnson 130. On my lower unit just in front of the water intake there is a small hole. It kinda looks like a screw hole. Does anyone know what this is? When I layer the lower on its side I have the lower unit oil that I just put in leak out. It doesn't seem right to me...

    Small fire....now what?

    Ok. A friends motor. 1987 Johnson 90 hp. With power trim/tilt There was a small fire ...after further investigation it seems all that burnt was the rectifier/regulator. My question in why? And if I replace it, what else should I look at to make sure the motor is ok to run?
