    Hi guys need a new tach for my 1982 johnson 150 .can anyone tell me what number to set the dail on the back of the tach thanks.I know it has to be for an outboard , someone has a omc tach for sale so it should work thanks

    how do i test gas guage

    Can someone help me on how to test gas guage or possibly sending unit there is power to guage and sending wire is hooked up properly . I put testor across sending wire and hot wire and it read 8 volts ,would that mean I have 3/4 full tank and a possible bad guage .What do you think guys ,thanks...

    1984 johnson 150/rings replacement

    Hi guys Im going to put new rings in my J150 cylinders look good but compression is only 80psi so I guess it cant hurt.My question is can i get to connecting rod nuts by removing the carb intake plate or do I need to split the cylinder case. Just wondering what im up against before I get started...

    Still confused about compression

    OK can someone clear the air on compression Ive been reading lots of forums and learning all I can about 2 stroke outboards. If their anything like cars I have to assume 120psi is a respectable number.Some guys are saying they have used motors reading 150psi and another guy says its not uncommen...

    another question on J150 vro vacuum switch

    posted earlier about 84 J150 vacuum switch .If its leaking gas when I prime carbs i assume its sucking air when pulling a vacuum .So could that be the reason for the rough running and heavy smoke .Again would it be a problem to just block off the hose going to switch.thanks Chuck

    My 1984 johnson 150 vacuum switch which I was told sounds alarm is fuel pressure vacuum gets to low .Mine pees gas out the bottom when I pump up the gas .I cant seem to find one to replace it ,not available. Will it hurt if I just plug off the gas line going to it or is its purpose critical to...

    1984 johnson 150 still missing/ primer problem

    You guys are great .Next problem motor wont start when I push in key to engage primer I hear selenoid clicking but no start I have to flip the manual overide lever and she fires right up plus it leakes dont know if its fuel line ,o ring or gasket . I posted earlier about low compression missing...

    Name that pink part on j150

    I have 1984 johnson 150 on port side of motor there is a pink part with a small fuel line and two wires going into it when I prime carbs this part pisses gas. I assume I need to replace it but I dont know what its called or whats its any body know Im trying to post a pic if i can thanks

    1982 evinrude 150 low compression

    I just bought evenrude 150 year 1982 compression is equal in all cylinders but its only about 70 psi . Is that to low ,it misses at low rpm but sounds ok when you rev it up . top two plugs are get oily bottom 4 burn clean.Any ideas will be helpful thanks
