    1963 40hp changeout powerhead onto my 1961 lower unit

    carb

    63 evinrude 40hp type 11 carb when pump prim bulb does not get hard, gas flows out exhust have set float level, then set it a little high same problem it idles good but can't get full power. this carb has been rebuilt, cked out the needel valve looks clean??no high speed ajust on this.. ideas please

    changing out 40hp

    i'm changing my 61 power head to my 63 selectric shift power head do you need to use the 61's throttle advance mechanism because of the shift lockout or is the throttle advance the same. i havn't taken the flywheels off yet to see but look the same

    any one know what a good compress ##on these engine have a 61 & a63 40 hp lark the 61 has 83 in#1-#2 has 85 the 63 has 75 in both? they runok but not all that good on power
