    BF 175s overheating

Have a pair of BF 175's (same block as 200 etc). They will overheat and go to safe mode when you try to throttle up. Fine at lower rpms. Initially it was just the port engine and if it alarmed you could shut it off, restart, and then it would be OK and you could cruise around at 4000rpm etc...

    BF175 losing fuel prime

We have a pair of BF175's (2007 models) on a power cat. One of them has suddenly started to lose it's fuel prime when sitting idle. If you pump the primer bulb it will start and run fine. If you stop and restart again within 30 mins (maybe even longer) or so it will again start and run fine...

BF 175 surging around 300rpm at mid/high revs

Ran out for an hour or so today @ 4100rpm and then stopped for a few minutes. Took off again and the port engine started to surge up and down by around 300rpm. Happens every 10 - 20 seconds or so, but not totally regular. Checked water seperator and found a little water in the bottom so changed...

    BF175 won't start - ECM issue

Have had an issue with the port BF175 (2007) being slow to start. Needed to be wound over for longer than normal, but inconsistent and only on odd occasions. Ran like a new engine once it was going. Eventually decided not to start at all one day. Wound over, kicked a little sometimes, but...

Yanmar 6LP hole in head water jacket

Had an overheat alarm on one of a pair of 6LP 315's yesterday. Dumped the coolant in the bilge. Looked like it could be from a pin hole in the exhaust manifold which is apparently reasonably common, but after pulling that off we could see that there is a hole in the rear of the head through to...

    BF50 top engine mounts

I need to replace the broken top engine mount rubbers on one of our BF50's. They are the ones that connect the engine to the top of the swivel tube. Has anyone ever done this job? Not sure if it is a full engine disassembly or if they can be replaced more simply. Also going to need the parts if...

    BF175 Alarm

One of a pair of 2007 BF175's. Will run all day just fine, but if you up anchor after a stop and then bring it up on to the plane at the normal rate it will alarm and go into safe mode. Restart it and the problem goes away if you then ease it up onto the plane at a slower rate. It will also...

    Tips for priming a 12V71

Ran the tank dry on our new to us 12v71 yesterday. Any good tips for priming the fuel system? Doesn't appear to be a manual lift pump like other engines usually have

    6-71 Exhaust parts

A friend needs a new 90deg bend to run off the end of his 6-71 exhaust manifold. The exhaust is dry at this point so it is not a wet elbow, just a flanged bend for the dry exhaust. Anyone suggest a good supplier to contact?

    12v71 PTO's

Anyone got any documentation on the PTO's on the back of a 12V71? Trying to see how much HP I can drive from them if I fit a hydraulic pump or variable speed AC generator.

    12v71 - information

We have just purchased an old steel ferry as a project boat. It has a 1970's 12v71 natural in it that has just been rebuilt with less than 100 hours on it. We have several other diesels in the fleet, but none this size, and no 2 strokes or Detroits. Has anyone got any special hints about what to...

    Honda 50 Parts

I am after a bunch of parts for a pair of mid 2000's long shaft 50's that we are resurrecting. Can anyone suggest a good (and reasonable cost) source? Need coils, CDI, and some gearbox parts.

    Honda BF50 parts

I need to find a bunch of parts to resurrect a pair of ~2005 BF50's that have been partly stripped for emergency spares etc. Main needs are Stator coils, regulator, CDI/ECM unit, and maybe a couple of drive shafts (22" I think). Anyone know where I can find some used parts?

    Volvo Power Steering leak

Had a fluid leak in the power steering actuator on our pair of D3's and DPS legs. Couldn't find any parts listed as it seems to be another Volvo 'non-serviceable' part. New one is around US$400 at the cheaper stores. Like some other Volvo 'non-serviceable' parts the unit is quite obviously...
