    minnkota intermittently turns off on off on when in 4th or 5th gear

    my minnkota endura 30 after running for about 5 mins in 5th gear will intermittently turn off then on then off again when in 4th or 5th gear, gears 1-3 work fine . I replaced the gear switch thinking that was it ,but it still does it . Anybody have any ideas?????

    No Water pump gasket needed ? (between metal housing and wear plate)

    I have an Evinrude 5.5 hp 1960 #5520 there is no listing for a gasket between the original metal water pump housing and the wear plate . Is it not needed? Shouldnt there be some kind of a seall between the two? Gasket cement? Help
