    starter trouble

    The new starter on my 5.7 L mercruiser is barely able to turn the engine over. Compression ratio is reportedly around 8:1 and the starter is rated at 100 ft-lbs of torque. Using two new and fully 560 amp starting batteries. Is the starter too small or is it misaligned?

    engine won't stop

    Just completed install of a new crate engine. Connected the wiring harness as best as I could following the original wiring diagram. Motor starts and runs well, but will not stop when I turn off the ignition key. Even taking all the wires off of the switch does not stop the engine...
