    1995 Mariner 60 alarm

My Mariner 60hp 2-stroke's alarm started screaming at me after my last trip. Not the intermittent beep indicating low levels of oil, but one long continuous alarm. Plenty of oil in the tank, and there's steady stream of water from the tell-tale. The engine isn't overheating. I tried starting her...

    Mariner 60hp thermostat

The high heat alarm has started going off at high revs on my 1995 Mariner 60hp 2 stroke. The impeller is only a year old and there is a very strong tell tale. I'm thinking the thermostat might be sticking. According to the parts diagrams, there are two types of thermostat - 120deg and 143 deg...

    Carburretor gasket kit

I was looking at this Gasket Kit, part# 1395-811223 There are three round gaskets in this kit. I can find only a place for two of them. One for the float bowl drain, and one for the nozzle well. Where does the little black and white one go? There is no mention of it in the carburetor diagram.

    Piston rings on Mariner 60hp

Rebuilding a Mariner 60hp with probable piston slap. Each piston has two rings. They both have a dot to show which way up and otherwise look like identical compression rings. Switching them is not an issue? Just wondering because I have two of these engines and I'm hoping to rebuild with the...

How to refill 1994 Mariner 60 manual tilt

I want to put new oil in the manual tilt on my '94 Mariner 60hp 2-stroke. The manual release plug is easily identifiable, but which is the fill plug?

    2007 Suzuki 6hp flushing

Suzuki sell a fitting to flush their 6hp engines after use. Not sure where it attaches though. Is the small round grey plug directly below the fuel switch in this picture the right port?

    Df6 stalling

I've got a 2007 4 stroke 6hp Suzuki that's acting up. Won't run up through there rev range very well. The engine is in pretty good condition overall. I thought it might be a gummed fuel system so I stripped the carb and everything down, including the tank and hoses, and soaked them in seafoam...

    Mariner 60hp driver gear

I had an issue with FWD gear the other day. Just got onto the plane and then the motor ran on with no thrust and then died. I thought maybe something had gone through the prop and damaged the hub or gearbox. It started back up and ran in FWD/REV at low revs. Once home, I stripped the lower end...

    Tach/rectifier issue on Mariner 60hp

OK, so my battery died recently. I checked the output voltage from the engine and realized the rectifier wasn't working. It looked burned out, so I replaced it. Pat on the back. Now the engine is charging the battery again. Unfortunately, now the tach has stopped working properly. I installed...

    1995 Mariner 60hp press valves

According to the parts diagram, this 3 cylinder Mariner 60HP 2-stroke usually has a hose which connects two valves in the cylinder head (see attached pic parts 4 and 6). What is this connection for? On my engine, the hose is missing and the valve threads have been plugged.

    Suzuki Df6 issues

Just picked up a 2007 Suzuki DF6 for a kicker. She'd been lying around for a couple of years and the fuel in the internal tank had sludged up. I removed the tank and cleaned it, along with all the hoses and filter. I'm running some seafoam through her to clean things up internally and fogged the...

    Mariner 60 RPM issues

I've just picked up a boat with a 95 Mariner 60 2-stroke on it, bit it seems too be having an RPM issue. The previous owner had filled the tank for the winter and added stabilizer. I put in new fuel/water separator just in case. The telltale was a bit weak, so I blew through the tell tube to...
