Looking to part out a 25" 2004 BF200 in Savannah, GA (advice)

Moderators - please let me know me if this post is inappropriate here. I am leaning towards re-powering and with the supply chain issues that are currently taking place, it looks like the motor will come in late April and I should be getting installation in May. The 2004 was a great engine and...

    2004 BF200 Tilt/Trim Questions

I swapped out the rod guides and all seals my trim cylinders over the weekend and everything was going well until it came time to refill the reservoir and bleed out the air. Basically, I couldn't get enough fluid in there for it to do anything. I think I screwed it up as I was looking at the...

    2004 XA BF200 Tilt/Trim Issues

Here we go. The original pic was slightly over 1 MB, I think that was the problem. I downsized it allowed me. I would expect to see more fluid, like a trail, but this one is definitely oily on the surface...does this look like a seal kit fix? Should I do both while I'm doing it?

    2004 XA BF200 Tilt/Trim Issues

Thanks for the feedback. I'm having a hard time getting the pic of the bad on to unload, but it's to the port side. Couple of questions: 1. My serial number is BAEJ-1200443. Does anybody know the right part number for the guide kit? The diagram shows two, both with the same serial range... 2...

    2004 XA BF200 Tilt/Trim Issues

Hello After being out of the water for a few weeks, I went to put the boat in and when I tilted the motor up, I noticed it was having a hard time. After doing a few other things, I tried it again, and this time it couldn't lift the motor. I went back to inspect and noticed a leak around the port...

2004 BF200 overheating at cruising rpm

Re: 2004 BF200 overheating at cruising rpm (Updated with Pics...) Update: I was able to get over to the boat Saturday night and pull the T-stats. Here's how it went. Pulled the starboard t-stat and it looked a little gunked up. On the port side, the o-ring seal was definitely compromised and...

2004 BF200 overheating at cruising rpm

I did a pretty extensive service over the winter including new impeller kit, replaced internal zinc anodes (mentioned because it involves taking the exhaust manifolds off), foot oil, and engine block oil. The boat has run great for several trips (including the weekend before), but this past...

2004 BF200 XA-Installing Shift Shaft in Lower Unit

I got the parts I needed to install the shift shaft in the lower unit and everything seemed to be going well. But as I was putting everything back together, I tried to make sure everything was working properly by attempting to take it in and out of gear and nothing was happening. The more I...

2004 BF200 XA Rookie Mistake: Anybody Had to Install Shift Shaft in Lower Unit?

So, I was putting the foot back on after doing a water pump service and apparently something was lined up properly. When I was tightening the bolts an the lower unit, I heard a pretty loud pop sound and thought, "uh oh." The top of the shift shaft that engages on the underside of the power head...

    2004 BF200 Blown #3 10 amp-should I be concerned?

I mentioned in my other thread that I just got the boat back after having some fuel-related issues serviced. When I was test running it, after about an hour of running well, it blew the #3 10 amp fuse for the first time ever, as far as I know? Of course, I will get some spare fuses to take out...
