I don't visit the site much in the winter, so been gone a while.
But how/why in the heck is Rick "RicardoMarine" showing up as "Banned"? I can't image a more helpful/knowledgeable human being. The value he has brought to this forum over the years is immeasurable. For a guy like me who his...
I should have also mentioned that I've drilled out and sleeved my fuel reservoir as it was pitted badly and also was designed to let water into it though a virtual pin hole. I did this a few seasons ago, and have had no issues since.
Not necessarily a VP question, but you guys have been my guides for years, so I trust your input.
I have a 2 battery system. Just had both replaced. The battery cables on my boat all have the small ring for the smaller terminal. However they were connected to a larger connector that went to...
Is it worth adding drain valves at the ends of the exhaust manifolds? Putting in a brand new set of Barr manifolds, and thought about adding a Fumoto valve at the far end of each for easy draining instead of the supplied threaded plugs. Not sure how much water might or might not stay in them...
It appears that there are two types or replacement manifolds that will fit my application. One has a tube where the water enters below each opening, and the other has the water running right into the side of the main body of the manifold. My question simply is, GENERALLY SPEAKING what's the real...
Okay guys, If you don't mind, I'd like a couple of opinions before moving on. See photos below.
They apparently cut one strap too long, and installed it anyway. If this was your boat, would you bother to correct it or leave it knowing that the tank hasn't moved with it like it is?
How hard...
Okay. All my parts are in, hoses, vent, whistle. So I peeled the carpet back, removed the small access plates and this is what I found. The reason I believe my vent is not overflowing before I overfill the boat is because it's on the complete opposite end of the tank and the hose if stretched...
Hey guys, the old stuff the boat manufacturer put in 24 years ago has been falling apart. I've put some HVAC tape on it as a stopgap, but I'd like to replace this stuff with maybe something thicker and better for a bit more sound deadening as well. Any thoughts or ideas? I don't even know what...
Just one more update for posterity in case anyone decides to do this in the future. They can certainly do what I did...or not!!! ;-)
As for the Y pipe, I filled the entire lower section with the Loc-Tite brand of expanding closed cell foam. I did this in the main opening and the 2 relief...
Hi Gang,
Another project on the list is a new shifter. My current one is very stiff and it grinds a bit when shifting. Cable is new/great/fine/adjusted. Grinding is actually at base of handle on the outside not the inside. It's just old. 24 years old. Time for a new one. I need a side mount...
Just a PSA that if you use this filter 3862228 (A lot of us do), they are dirt cheap at Wally World right now. I ordered 3 at this price, and shipping to my door being free was great also. I may order 3 or 4 more...
