late 60s 1250 125hp broken distributor rotor shaft?

Yeah that's not bad. Still have to convert to Canadian plus shipping. But reasonable. There is a local dealer near me and they sell it for $70

I believe it is for pulling the distributor to the slow position and hold it to the stop. I`m sure you could make another spring work if you cant find the right one. Racer will know maybe have one?

The bearing on the rotor shaft is solid. I'm not sure if I'm going to Change it. As for the spring I'm sure I can find something.

Its quite possible it just skipped some teeth on the belt. Do not mess with any of the timing adjustments line the pully with the flywheel and it should just fire right up.

Yea I cannot find any pics of the spring and how its connected. Something tells me it goes between the distributor and the pilot. The spring pulls the distributor up to the max timing stop and then allows the throttle lever to push the carbs WOT while holding the timing at max timing advance?

Sorry for the late reply. I was up at the cottage. I went to a salvage yard up there and I found an old distributor housing with good bearings. I'm going swap them out. Yes they are the same. The top bearing is a "norma s5rpp". I got some more goodies up there too. 1987 75hp merc with power trim and controls. Looks to be in really good shape, but no idea if it runs. As for the spring I found out where is connects to the distributor. Just haven't looked at the motor yet because there is a foot of snow here. Maybe if someone has a soloc repair guide could look for me?
