1986 merc 170.....what should my timing be set at?

point gap = 0.022"
point

point gap = 0.022"
point dwell = 28-34 deg.
timing = 8 deg. BTDC
idle in gear = 650 - 700 rpm

My SELOC manual is only 2 years old and it lists all of those engines at 8 deg. BTDC. Is there a bulletin out?
