can enybody help? i am trying

can enybody help? i am trying to remove the bellhousing from my volvo penta aq140. the bellhousing will pull away around 1 cm from the enging but will not come off.

"If all the bolts have been removed, it should come off. There are a couple of dowels that can make the removal a bit harder, and also the primary shaft may be seized to the ball bearing in the crankshaft or the spline may be seized to the vibration damper. Make sure you have also removed the cover plate 67.

I have removed all the bolts and the bellhousing can spin round on the shaft so i guess the shaft must be seized to the bearing or vibration damper. If i was to remove parts 71 to 75 would the bellhousing come free allowing me to get to the shaft?

"Unfortunately, (if I remember correctly) you can only remove the shaft from the stern side of the bellhousing, so that won't work.

I suggest you should pry the bellhousing both from port and starboard side at the time by means of a couple of pry bars or a couple of wooden wedges. I'm positive it will come out."

i have eventually managed to remove the bellhousing, if you remove parts 71 to 75 this allows you to remove the bellhousing giving you access to the shaft which was seized to the vibration damper as you had suggested.
