"Well gentlemen I did it. I broke my outdrive. Cruising along at a low 2500 rpm Ford OMC 7.5L barely making 6 knots when outdrive starting making a screeching noise and then it broke. I have been looking at different websites, actually can only find two Crowley Marine and someplace in Canada I think its called OMC Stearndrive. Does anyone know of any other places to buy if needed. I think I will have local Mechanic look at outdrive and see if its repairable and at what price. Looks like I can get a lower end for $1,740.00 from Crowley Marine, plus corecharge and shipping. I guess at some point I will need to decide whether to repair it or replace lower end. Only problem I am having is most of them list outdrive for up to 5.8L engines, none list 7.5L but they state it will handle up to 300 h.p. Any suggestions??"
