I have a 1989 outboard. runs great except the tnak on the side of the motor overfills. In fact the pump wont stop pumping with ingnition on. Ive installed an in line shutoff switch . I have replaced the sensor in the tank . The cdi unit and the emegency switch. Has anyone else run into this problem?

I would need to double check but this may have a 'breather' at the top of the filter in the tank. If this is not lined up correctly the float can get a small amount of air trapped at the top and therefore not reach the cutoff level. Will check when at work if this model has that type.
