Yamaha Z200 engine small end problems

Hi I have a 2006 low hours Yamaha Z200 v6 engine which developed a rattle, when I asked the dealer to investigate he found that in 5 of the 6 cylinders, the gudgon or wrist pin had been turning in the pistons rather than the small end bearing, wearing the pistons prematurely which means a new set of pistons etc.

Has anyone had a similar issue with the 200 or any of the other V6 engines.

Common failure, I see it often. Yamaha has made several changes in design beginning in 1987, however problem persist. Thank's Martin

Martin; Many thanks, i also found an Austrailian BB "Yamaha Hasses" where similar issues were reported, including a broken crank shaft, however Yamaha as a company seem to brush customer complaints aside; Great customer service and support, hmm!
We are also running a New 225hp 4 stroke on our other boat, which we have been running for about a year, we'll be keeping a very close eye on that one, any issues i'll let the forum know!.
