I have a Twin 2012 Yamaha 300 Setup, about 8 - 10 months ago I had a Lower Unit Failure, and it was replaced completely with a new one. This one got about 800 hours in with regular maintenance on time. This unit failed about 1 month ago and was replaced again with a new unit. this time we also installed new propellers on both engines.
Today my new lower unit failed again, it only got about 130 hours in
we did the first oil change after 20 hours (break in) after that we did the 100 hours, and after we barely got about 10 or 20 hours into that new lower unit
we have not hit anything with the propeller or the lower unit, they just break ….
What can be causing this recurrent lower unit failure ?????
