Hello, i have a 1985 Wellcraft 248 sportsman i finally got rebuild and running and now in the boat. I have a closed cooling system with H/E. Was wondering do i run just water or coolant? I also trailer the Boat atm.

What kind of coolant do you recommend?Ayuh,.... Coolant in the closed side, 'n muffs for water on the raw side,....

Thank you!!To cool an engine, you should use coolant or antifreeze mixed with water in your vehicle's cooling system.
Use a 50/50 mix of antifreeze and distilled water for most vehicles. Never use plain water alone, as it can cause corrosion and doesn't provide adequate freeze or boil-over protection. Use the type of coolant recommended by your vehicle's manufacturer. If you need a quick temporary fix, you can use plain water, but replace it with proper coolant mix as soon as possible. Avoid using tap water if possible, as minerals can build up in the cooling system.
