Vapor separator tube, not sure where it goes. MFS40A

Hi,
I was draining vapor separator on my MFS40A ( first season owner so apologies for idiotic questions). It seems that I might have disconnected a tube while doing that. I am attaching a picture, the tube in question is a thinner one coming from the top of the separator. Can not figure out what it does and where it is supposed to go? Or is it supposed just to lay down there?

It's a vent. If there's a hole in the lower cowling, you can thread it through there
