"OK,Been on here a lot lately,next question i started here with johnson ,sold that boat ,bought another with merc.(problem's)My money is tight .have a oppurtunity to purchase a 2000 johnson complete & hooked up for 2,800 if my 135 merc is not completely trash or 3500 if trash.Now I could come out a little cheaper staying with merc.because of control's.I grew up with evinrude 7 my last boat had a 140 looper motor (drank gas)but good.I just looking for advise the johnson used with few hour's & a compltete rebuild on lower end gear's and all.This a carbed Johnson .
What are the issues with this motor or is it pretty good ,with normal wear ,I believe in good maintence.What should I look for & be aware of ?
