You mean the kind with the big rubber end caps held on by hose clamps?

yes the 3/8 bolt that holds them on.

36 -72 lbs * in is the range...coat the mating surfaces of the gasket with perfect seal (or equivalent).

And be damn sure the threads on both items are perfectly clean and lubricated. If not, you'll have a loose, leaky, possibly broken connection.

PS: That's the problem with torque wrenches; they can trick you and mess up a job. Those threads HAVE to prepared properly.

Mark, did you mean 36-72 ft lbs? Man, that seems like a lot, I seem to recall torquing these to slightly past snug. Did that * mean something else?
