"I have a 1990 Four Winns with

"I have a 1990 Four Winns with a 5.8 Liter Ford Motor... Yesterday I was out and it seemed to be fine and then when I stopped for a bit went to restart it all the starter would to is make a whining noise? I think I know what it is but figured I would see if anyone else wanted to sound off or could think of another problem? I am about to go get a new or reman starter but don't want to if there is another solution?

"you could replace the solenoi

"you could replace the solenoid, (the bendix isn't kicking out). but personally i would replace the starter so i don't have to worry about the overall condition of the starter."
