I bought a used mercury supposedly a 25 hp. I have a clear picture of the serial number. But I can’t find out what year it is. Any information would be greatly appreciated

I have searched everywhere for my serial number A714567. I cannot find it in American, Canadian nor Belgum. is this a fantom number? I would love to know how to locate the information for this motor. can anyone help out with that? you can see the photos earlier in this thread. It's a rope pull start. it's not a very big motor. At this point without more info, I'm can't even be sure its 25 hp.
 
It is a Canadian built 1987 model all day long !!----Easy to find with a few clicks for me.----Where are you looking ??
 
I found it finally thank you. I wound up taking it back to the guy I bought it from it had a bad carb. The guy was cool about it and traded me a 40hp mercury. That all my controllers will hook up to. The guy is a 2 stroke mechanic. He several motors
