"I want to replace my 21 yr old Crusader 350cid/270hp carburated engines with 350cid/330hp fuel injected ones. Has anyone had any experience with the swap? I'm cautious about the pressurized fuel system and the fuel return lines. The boat is an '85 Tiara Pursuit 2700 Open, kept on a trailer and used primarily around Catalina Island. It has the old (log style) exhaust manifold that I'd like to replace with the newer center riser style. Any advice would be appreciated."

3. fuel system should not be a problem. it is all contained on the engine. you may have to change your filter setup. (follow manufacturer recommendations.

"The fuel system will not be a problem provided you use the returnless system. Crusader sells the engines both ways. Using the return type system will work as well, provided your tank has provisions for return lines (most from that era do not). You will also need an adapter for your engine harness or a complete new harness as your old harness will not match up. Your flywheel will not match either so be sure to buy the "bobtail" engine. This will come with the new flywheel, bell housing, coupler and starter."

"Thanks for the info guys. Yes, one engine is a reverse rotation and my gearing is 1.5:1 VelvetDrive. I'll have to deal with the reverse rotation (the 330hp RH engines are available) but I was mainly worried about fuel. Thanks again!

Gerry"
