" Thanks for the diagrams Joe, but I have a new question now. When i mark up the hole based on the measurements, the hole is where the metal begins to slope up to form the blade. The blades on my prop appear to begin closer to the end of the prop than what is shown. It's a small prop for a johnson 35. Is this ok or should I not perform this modification on this particular prop? "

" Frankly, I wouldn't chance it. Those hole modifications usually pertain to the high hp performance engines.

" I have a 7.5 hp Mercury outboard that I was attempting to start, yesterday. After a few cranks, it turned over, but now the flywheel only turns and not the motor. Is this just a shear pin problem or possibly more serious. Expertise would be appreciated. Also would this shear pin replacement be a job for expert of novice mechanic. Please leave details.. Thanks... "
