Possible out drive problem or spun prop.

I have a 1986 Sea Ray 270 . The original engines were 4cyl and were upgraded to 4.3l V6 before we owned the boat. The outdrives are both Alpha ones and are the original. I had the boat out this weekend and one of the outdrives dropped out but then caught back up. This happened a few times until the boat was really warmed up. My question is could it be a spun prop or is the outdrive going? The next question is I would like to purchase 2 new props anyways and I cant figure out the proper diameter, pitch, and what would work better 3 blade or 4 blade.Also does one engine turn clockwise and the other counterclockwise?

both should be standard rot. reverse rotation is done with a counter-rotating lower unit.spun prop hub most likely, drives just stop working.prop selection depends on a lot more factors. you max WOT rpm with the current props. the standard is usually 14 x 19
