"I would like to give out some advice..I have a new 2007 Monterey deck boat 5.0gxi and SX drive..I noticed the motor overheating on the lake.230F..Did the hand test felt hot but not so hot, slowly got back to the dock...Checked the lower-end for sea-weeds found it clean and clear..I know that the alarm will go on at 205F but it never came on.Left it over night and the guage was normal the next morning. Started it up and the guage went back to 230F..I took it to the local VP repair shop to make sure things were
A-OK...Warranty is at stake here, He checked my water flow at the lower end and inspected the raw-water imprellar and tested the temp. everything was running at 170-180F but the guage was at 230F...Faulty gauge,,He told me I was correct to check and then have it again inspected by a approved tech to save all warranties..But I should remember that the computer will also help out by reading the sending units and not the guages..The sending units and computer have done there job..I used the boat all week, put on 28hrs with my guage reading 230 to 250...Though you guys should like this story..."
