Omc control cable question

Hello. New here to the forum and fairly new to working on outboards. I have a Johnson 30hp I have done some work to on my fishing boat and am currently helping a family member get there Johnson 15hp running on there pontoon boat. We got the motor running well after sitting for 3 years and noticed the throttle cable is broken and needs replacement. The motor appears to be a newer motor dating around 1990’s would be my guess but the control box seems to be very old 2 lever control, I think it’s a Johnson ship mate? Unfortunately I don’t have pictures to confirm that. My question pertains to how the control cable hooks up to the throttle lever in the control box. I am thinking we need to order type 400 cable but I am stumped on how this clevis (see attached picture where my thumb is holding the cable) attaches to the cable? Unfortunately I left the cable at the cabin so all I have are pictures I took. Any help is appreciated. Thank you!

It looks like a " home made" control.----Doubt you can get any help here on stuff like that.----You are on your own.----Sorry.

That would make sense as I can’t seem to find anything with this design. I think the control box is an aftermarket one looks just like ultraflex b47 actually. If anyone knows anything about those and how to connect a new cable? Thanks again

That cable end doesn't look that much different than the one on my 1972 Johnson 85hp. It has a little cylinder that fits over that end and then slides in the channel on the control. But the whole end is defiantly different than mine. It doesn't have that larger piece of metal that looks like it may be removable. It just has that similar very end piece attached more directly to the cable.

I'd update the control and cables. Tim's Outboard in Hackensack Minnesota has sold me some great stuff over the years. Maybe give them a call for a nice clean used setup? Have the motor # for them and your required cable length. 2186822331.

thanks everyone for the insight. I wound up finding a Johnson ship master control with cables for $20. I couldn't pass that up so we will plan to just use that. I will keep Tims outboard in mind for future needs as I also live in MN. thanks again!
