oil leak near clutch shaft

We replaced a lower unit on our 2013 Suzuki 140hp over the summer. somehow in the change over we have an engine oil leak (https://www.megazip.net/zapchasti-d...om-14003f-310001-864380/clutch-shaft-16954084). The leak is above the shaft clutch, part number 3 in diagram. it only leaks when the engine is trimmed up...when engine is down...it does not leak. after replacing lower unit, the engine runs fine and got us around the lake. Our cabine where the boat is located is very remote in Alaska and I want to fix as soon as we get there next July. any ideas? it looks very diffiicult to work on the part while engine is on the boat...i am worried i may have to take off and tear it apart. may be above my skill level?? thank you

Get yourself a genuine Suzuki service manual and read up on the process. If it’s not too late take the lower unit home and replace the seal during the winter. If you feel the job is above your skill level then it can be done in a shop over the winter and be ready for your return next summer.

Edit: In my mind I read shift shaft not clutch shaft. I’ve never been that deep in my engine. It’s a big job IF your clutch shaft is leaking and is anything like the attached drawing from a 2009 DF90A Service Manual

Sorry for the confusion
