Made 3 trips motor ran completely fine know it cups on the last trip I ended up hitting the trailer pretty hard when I got home try to start the motor to run it back fired twice and now I have no spark in any cylinder

I have a 1997 Johnson 90 horsepower ocean runner

If the engine actually backfired... that is like a shotgun blast out the exhaust, the flywheel nut wasn't torqued to specifications properly, sheared the flywheel key, and that threw it out of time.

The spark plugs must be removed when testing for spark, and the spark must be able to jump a 7/16" air gap with a strong blue lightning like flame... a real SNAP! Does it?

Some 97 models may not have a key and flywheel nut.------Model # was not posted.

Flywheel is held on with 5 bolts.

But won't I get some type of spark even if my timing was off

I never said that there would be " no spark " with timing off.-----I have a number of these motors for parts rebuild too !!----Trouble shooting on your motor must now begin.

Had a local guy come look at the motor for me and he said that my power pack went out
