New Risers and elbows torque

I replaced my manifolds risers and elbows on crusader 270hp FWC. I think i Made a mistake and over tightend the bolts on the risers and elbows. I tightened them really really tight. Is there any harm in this. I have not yet filled with anti-freeze. Should I go back and loosen bolts and retighten to specs 25-30ft/pd. Have I hurt the gaskets by over tightening. If I loosen bolts will the gaskets still be good. Thanks Mike

Really tight is subjective and makes the following somewhat speculative...

You may want to consider replacing the fasteners...over-torqueing them may have stretched them beyond their design constraints. As far as the gaskets go, if their underlying mating surfaces were true, you may have compressed them a bit too much...I would either replace them or coat them with permatex#3 or an equivalent.

Do they leak? if they don't leak I would leave it alone. If they leak then re assemble with new gaskets and proper torque. You will want new riser nuts. Unless you used some sort of extension bar, you are probably ok.
