New here...Volvo Penta 5.7 Inboard Part Question

Hi everyone,
New to boating and found this floating under my boat after I put it on the lift. I have a 2005 Four Winns Funship 214 that has a Volvo Penta 5.7 on it.

Upon a lot of google searching I think it may be a heat exchanger cap? But is this for my boat? Or did it float over from somewhere else?

I've never seen a heat exchanger end cap that would float...

hard to say what it is given the aspect of the pic...

I'd say if it was floating, its highly unlikely it came from inside of your boat...unless it blew over once you were back at the mooring...

Some heat exchangers use a solid disc of a rubber like material as a "seal" under a metal end cap.

Thanks guys, I really appreciate it. It is probably a quarter of an inch thick. 4-5"across. I was skeptical of the heat exchanger cap just because that would mean for it to get out, it would have to find a decent size hole in the boat and that clearly didn't happen as it was floating.

I wondered if it was a piece that came off of the exterior motor/prop?
