Hey guys,
I'm from germany and my friend asked me to check his Mercury 60 outboard, because it stopped during trip with 5 guys in his Rio boat. Back in the harbour I check the engine for sparks. All three cylinders seem to have strong spark, but cylinder #1 isn`t firing, so I tought about an fuel issue with the carb. But first of all I checked compression on all 3 cylinders. #1 has 0psi, #2 has about 50psi and #3 also 50psi. He ran the engine with four-stroke 10w-30 oil, because apparently he didn't know that his engine was a 2 stroke. Do you have any hints what to check first? I think about a issue with piston or pistonrings. Is there anything that might also lead to this behaviour or do i forget something?
Thanks for you help.
