Mercury 50hp. how can know year?

between 1981 and 82 according to the model,year guide on this website

The serial number on the tag is the key to getting the correct parts for your engine....

@lemauvi according to the model information the engine is a 1980 Mercury 50HP. Linked below is the complete engine and drive schematics.
