"I just got my son's Mercu

"I just got my son's Mercury 40 running again after it has sat for two years. The motor works fine but the tilt/trim seems to be stuck/frozen.
When I press the tilt/trim switch I hear the clicking but I don't get any movement from the trim motor... I took the cover off of the electrical panel and traced the clicking to two black connectors that have the power to the trim solenoid ( blue & Green wires. I pulled the wires out of connectors and tried to jump them from the battery but no motor action... Could you suggest what I should do next?

Thanks in advance,
Wingoda"

when u say no motor action do

when u say no motor action do you mean absolutely nothing as in no clicking or buzzing from the motor at all? it is possible the tilt motor has seized. try tapping it with a large spanner whilst it is connected to power and someone is pressing the switch. if that doesnt work i suggest you look at removing the tilt motor and dismantling the motor from the pump to check for siezed bearings or broken electrical windings in the armature.
