"Just wondering if these temps sound within range for other 454's. At 30 mins at 2000rpm, (This is in Northern CA so water temp is mid-50's) Header manifold 181-deg, Riser Elbow 88-deg, Heat Exchanger top tank 165-deg, bottom tank 137-deg, Water pump (top of engine) 151-deg, Manifold top (behind carb) 129-deg. Note: 1986 Crusaders w/700 hrs new hosing, heat exch,& water pumps. Both engines are within 3-5 degrees of each other. Gauge on dash reads 130-degrees."

"You have me confused. You claim it is RWC, yet you give readings on the exchanger?? For a RWC engine, temps look OK, although maybe a little cool. If it actually has an exchanger it is FWC, at which point they are way cool.

Your gage is definitely reading cool. I would check the temp at the sender and compare that to the gage reading."
