Hello. While cleaning the carb, I noticed gasket material flakes when I removed the slow speed needle and cleaned it. Upon further inspection, I noticed the gasket between the intake manifold and reed plate was breaking apart at the middle of this particular gasket (the part that is not covered by metal).
Is this normal wear and tear over time with those gaskets?
Any ideas on what is going on?
I am rebuilding the carb and replacing the gaskets anyway. I was just curious if this gasket failure is normal and if it is avoidable beyond replacing those gaskets every so often.
