Ignition Problem with Resistor

I have a 1988 Chris craft Catalina 381 with twin Crusader 454s. We have isolated the problem to the Coil resistor, but can't find the darn thing. Before I start pulling wires out, does anybody know where it is on that boat? Thanks.
 
Kinda curious how you isolated your issue to the resistor but can't find it...???

Follow the purple wire from the "+" terminal of the ignition coil....it should terminate at the resistor.
 
Resistance wire is a MIE or a MCM implementation; Crusader used ballast resistors, at least from the mid 70's until they switched over to electronic controls...
 
Okay. Well IF there's a ballast resistor in that system, it has to be connected (eventually) to the positive terminal of the coil. Start there and work backwards.
