Hydrodrive Inboard cylinder for Outboard use

Hi all
My friend gave me his hydrodrive steering system, its for a side mount for an inboard setup. I am wondering if anyone has tried to install this on an outboard motor. I am in the process of doing this but found that i cannot get full range of motion when turning steering wheel to the right. Any tricks and tips for those that have done this successfully?

Thanks,
Dan

best bet is to see if you can get a cylinder for an outboard application.

If not, then another source for the cylinder (with a longer stroke) is in order.

the last option (which may not be viable) is to change the connection point on the streering arm to maximize the arc obtained.
