Help with US Marine Force FS 1989 150hp

"Hey Guys,
I am hoping some of you can help me out. I have just bought my first boat. 1989 Bayliner Quantum Fish & Ski. Motor is a US Marine Force FS 150. How do you put ears on the motor so that I can crank it in the driveway? It is not like motors that my friends have. The slits for the water to go into the motor are about 2" from the prop and regular ears will not slide over this area.
The motor does not have oil injection. Can someone tell me what the correct gas/oil ratio is?

"Without me bending the frame on the ears they will not spread that far, and I don't think they will seal off on the round part of the prop shaft case.

The guy that I bought the boat from said that he had been putting 6oz of oil to 1 gallon of gas. I did not realize how much oil that was until I bought a bottle of oil and read the back. He had been running the motor at somewhere around 24:1. After reading the bottle I knew it was not right but I did not know what ratio to use. Thanks for letting me know.
