help needed with 60hp mercury

Hi ive got a 3cyl 60hp mercury 2stroke the last time i took it out it was runing fine didn't miss a beat the next morning a friend asked to use it an when he tryed to start it it wouldn't start its got spark an fusl but it just wont start its weird when u kick it over it wont start but when u stop turning it over it trys to start i cant work it out any suggestions would be much appreciated
