Fuel filterwater separators

Replaced fuel filter/water sep

Replaced fuel filter/water separators starboard and port there is a cross over line with a valve connecting the two filters should this valve be open or closed? any help is appreciated.

Should be closed between the 2

Should be closed between the 2 valves if you have 2 tanks so that each tank works a seperate engine.This way you can diagnose problems easier.Also gives you an idea how much fuel each engine is running thru....Todd
