I have a 1991 Force 70 hp that is having trouble getting to WOT in forward. I can get full throttle when shifting into reverse. Just going into forward I'm only getting up to 3200 rpm or so.
I've tried many things including trying to adjust the throttle and shifter cables (including the gear shifter linkage) on both remote and engine side, cleaning the carb out, checked the fuel filter, changed spark plugs and ignition coils, checked compression and spark, check reed valves and cleaned out intake. Its seems like it maybe over fueling because when I removed the reed valves the was a pool on fuel on the bottom cylinder on the intake side. I'm just not sure where to go from here. Any help is appreciated.
Side note - This all started when I had accidentally overcharged the battery and blew the fuse on the motor. It would not start until I replaced the fuse. It thought I have fried everything but it started right up when I changed the fuse.
