Looking for any info on GPH for 1989, 502/8.2 Crusader, in a 42', aft cabin Chris Craft, 33,000 lbs. I want to install a Flowscan twin dial gauge, but not sure what scale to order, 0-24 GPH or 0-32 GPH per engine. Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks!!

Why not contact Floscan directly, and ask for their recommendation?

BTW, good choice w/ the Floscan.
From what you'll read, Floscan still receives the better reviews.

FYI: you'll eventually stumble upon some forum information re; fuel filter recommendations, of which some will suggest a small pre-filter prior to the sensor unit.
I cringe at the thought of what some are suggesting AND installing as a pre-filter (i.e., the little metal in-line filters).

Your call.... but give this some thought.

I would second the recommendation to call Floscan. I have the 8.2 MPI with a return fuel line, I emailed them and gave them the specs and they emailed me back with exactly what set up I would need, they were very helpful.

they'll tell you take the 32 GPH for the big blocks. Unless you run WOT all the time, either will work fine. The totalizer function continues to work even with the flow rate display pegged.

We've had over 20 flawless years with our 5000 series unit. Once calibrated, it hasn't missed a beat.

Thanks makomark,
Flowscan says that I have to have a PRE-FILTER befor the sensor: any recomendations? I have big Racors on each engine. Should i move them back before the sensors or get some in-line jobie?

thanks...

Floscan used to recommend a coarse screen type of filter in front of their sensors. all of this used to be in the installation sheets they provide. I'd suggest a serviceable marine grade part vs a 'throw-away'. Read the sheet and make sure the filter you select has an adequate micron rating. I'd leave the racors where they are.

Flo-Ezy 238 micron is what they recommend. Cleanable metal screen, not cheap but nice filters. I have an extra pair that I couldn't use if you go this route. My Stb tank needs to be flushed so I upgraded to the bigger version so I didn't need to clean the screen as often.
