I have a 1999 4.3L Mercury Alpha water cooled engine that gets too hot and I am wondering if pulling 2 to 3 kids on a tube for a couple hours would do this or if it is something else? There was a small amount of smoke but I did not have the bilge blowers turned on at the time either, and should they be on all the time?
I also notice that my gauges seem to vary too much all the time. The Volt meter NEVER moves, the Gas Gauge can say 3/4 full than 1/4 full in a matter of seconds; the motor up or down bounces around and has to be monitored visually. Please suggest/advise- first time boat owner, 3 days on the water. Thanks.
