My 72 pacemaker has a engine with #3970010. Anyone know what it is. 307??

That is the casting number for

That is the casting number for a 1969-1979 small block chevy. Most likly a 350ci. At the front of the engine there is a flat part spot in front of the head that has an number stamped into it. that would tell you exactly what you have. (if engine work has been done over the years the stamping might have been machined off.
