engine dieseling

After getting my engine fixed for a problem with the carb. it now diesels when the key is shut off. (stays running and bobbles)

Two possibilities come to my mind:

1) Timing is incorrect.

2) If you have a brushless alternator, the alternator is backfeeding the coil after you turn the ignition key off if there is no resistor installed in the exciter wire (a purple wire going to the back of the alternator).

Also... sometimes, deposits on the spark plugs can cause this...
