does anyone know the thread size for u-coolers?

I would like to p/u some "caps" to temporarily block the lines when I install the new u-coolers.

I assume I can find something at Home Depot in brass or PVC that'll do the trick but don't know the size offhand.

1/2" NPT on the engine side and 3/8" on the tranny side on the actual cooler. Although they are adapted to inverted flare threads for the hose. HD might not have inverted flare caps. Since you might have 8 holes leaking, maybe just use a small oil dribble blanket.

I seem to remember one of those hose ends, at the cooler, being regular flare, at least on my OEM setup.

I think it was easier for me to have the 'diaper' under the upper hoses when removing them, and just zip tying them to something, open end up, just to keep the drips from flowing out. don't remember any significant outflow from the lower fittings but mine had been dormant for a while when the hoses were pulled.

I believe the flare size is 1/2"
